For the nail art challenge that I’m participating in via Instagram, there was a theme called Spring Time. I could have easily gone for pink and floral spring nails, but I decided to follow the season here right now and design an autumn stamping nail art!
This design was inspired by my super talented stamping mentor, Cassis from Nails by Cassis! When I first saw this design on her Instagram I fell in love with it instantly!! She has video tutorials for all of her designs and they have been marvellously helpful. Of course, everything looks so straightforward and easy to do when she demonstrates, but when a super beginner stamper with zero experience (me) tries what she does… the end result is a catastrophe.
As you can see, the stamping images are so scratchy and the flower decals are too thick! And the red and pink polish are too transparent so that you can see the black background underneath. Ugh! I’m so embarrassed, but I’m secretly loving this design, lol. 😀
Cassis used a gorgeous rose stamping image for her design, but I didn’t have any rose stamping plates yet. So instead I used the big flower images on BM 717 (Secret Garden Collection from Bundle Monster)!
For the leaves, I used BM 720 which is also from Bundle Monster! The gold stamping polish I used is from Mundo de Unas.
Even though I kinda stuffed up the stamping part, I love it and I don’t want to remove it at all! And that’s why there always seems to be delays in completing the challenges, hahaha!!
Thank you for visiting!!
You silly, you have no reason to be embarassed at all, you did a wonderful job! These are stunning and to have the black background peek through the flowers adds to the design rather than make it bad.
And I actually prefer your flowers to roses – this is beautiful!
Awww!! Thank you sooo very much Mina!! I’m so grateful that you could see a positive side of what I thought was a failure, and that changed my mind too and now I’m really proud of the outcome of this design!!! Thank you very much for your super thoughtful comment sweetheart!! <3 <3 <3 <3 😀
Girl, you have nothing to be embarrassed about! These are fantastic, and all the little things you pointed out are totally not noticeable! Love them so much! Like Mina, I also like the background peeking through the flowers a bit!
Awww Cait!! I’m really really glad you liked the outcome even though I was so negative about it!! THANK YOU sooo very much for being super supportive and super kind (as always) to me!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 😀
Oh my oh my, I knew this is inspired by my Hakama mani before I even read the article! So cool and so perfect in every way, OMG!! Those flowers from Secret Garden are so lush and gorgeous! (I finally bought the set, yay!)
And don’t get too hard on yourself, Minnie! I didn’t realise you combined the flowers and leaves from different plates. They go so well together and your placement is simply perfect! I like the way the base shows through the stamp too, it adds a complex look. All in all it’s truly fabulous, and you should be proud 😀 You claim yourself as a super beginner stamper, but you’re already at mastery level! Yaaaaaay! XD
Yeeees!!! I’m really glad you can still recognise it as your recreation!! XD OMG!! You got the collection too?! I already know that the designs you’ll come up with using these plates will be absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I can’t wait to do another recreation of your designs featuring the same plates 😀
And thank you so very much for your super positive comment about my recreation!! It’s HUGE coming from my stamping goddess 🙂 Although I was a bit negative about the outcome, I really love this design and it made me want to improve more and more by watching your tutorials.
THANK YOU sooo much for being such a great inspiration as well as an AWESOME teacher!!! 😀 <3 <3 <3 <3
The manicure is very beautiful! <3
Aww! Thank you sooo much Ninthea 😀 Really glad you think so!! <3 <3 <3 <3
don’t be embarrassed, this looks great 😀
Aww! Thank you so very much Zana!! You’re so kind to say that 😀 <3 <3 <3 <3
I genuinely love all the nail art you create! This is so striking and pretty but totally wearable at the same time, I love how you’ve done these nails. Black and white is always pretty but the touch of red and gold is just something extra special 😀 xx
Aww! That’s so kind of you to say!! I rarely wear black polish, so it makes me super happy when I hear positive things about my design that has black in it 😀 Thank you so very much Ithi!! <3 xxx
